Material Description PLA Polylactic acid, polylactic acid is a bio plastic, which is manufactured from corn starch with the same properties as the plastic made from petroleum. PLA is more environmentally friendly than eg. ABS. The material is soluble in tetrahydrofurane. Any long term exposure to acetone can corrode the surface. The disadvantage is a lower temperature resistance. PLA can be actively cooled when printing does not need a heating pad. PLA is the processing temperature from 190 to 220 ° C.
Finish copies arises when machining heat, which causes a "pulling" fibers printout. Therefore, it is suitable for manual grinding printout cool. E.g. grinding under water; spraying of fillers, grinding, repeating this process until the product is not perfectly smooth.
